Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how CoreBackend LLC (“CoreBackend,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit corebackend.dev (the “Site”) or contact us regarding our B2B backend engineering and related services, including our CoreLabs educational materials. We keep this policy concise and transparent for a startup environment while aligning with applicable laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable.

What We Collect

• Contact information you provide via our contact form (Formspree) or email: name, business email, company, and message content.
• CoreLabs notification requests submitted through CoreLabs signup forms (Formspree): the email address you provide and, where offered, which title or release you asked to be notified about.
• Advertising measurement data collected through Google Ads when you arrive from one of our ads: whether a visit led to an enquiry, so we can tell which ads work.
• Usage data collected through cookies and similar technologies using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) (e.g., pages viewed, time on page, referrers, device/browser details, general location).
• Client/project data that you choose to share with us during pre-sales or engagement (e.g., technical requirements documents, specifications). Such data is handled under confidentiality and, when applicable, under a separate agreement (e.g., NDA, MSA, or DPA).

How We Use Information

• To respond to inquiries, schedule calls, and provide proposals for B2B services.
• To analyze Site performance and improve content, UX, and marketing effectiveness (via GA4).
• To measure whether our advertising is working (Google Ads conversion tracking) and to decide where to spend.
• To send CoreLabs release notifications and updates you have asked to receive, and to action any request to stop receiving them.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics via Google Analytics 4. GA4 may set first-party cookies that help us measure interactions on the Site. We have configured GA4 to minimize the collection of personally identifiable information.

We also run search advertising through Google Ads and use its conversion tracking to measure whether an ad led to an enquiry. That measurement fires only when you actually submit the contact form — not on ordinary page views.

We do not use these cookies to personalise advertising to you. Google’s ad-personalisation signal is switched off on this site at all times, including after you accept, so we do not build remarketing audiences or follow you around the web with ads. What we measure is whether our own advertising brought someone here.

Analytics and ad-measurement cookies are off until you accept them. When you first visit the Site you are shown a cookie notice with equal “Accept” and “Decline” options. We use Google Consent Mode, so until you accept, no analytics or advertising cookies are stored on your device and we receive only aggregate, cookieless measurement. Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage; you can change it at any time by clearing site data for corebackend.dev, which will show the notice again. You can also manage or block cookies in your browser settings.

Where and How We Process Data

• Hosting/Deployment: We deploy and serve this Site using Netlify’s hosting infrastructure. Netlify may process limited technical logs to deliver and secure the Site.
• Forms: Our contact form is processed by Formspree, which transmits your submission to our designated mailbox(es).
• Advertising: We use Google Ads to run search advertising and to measure conversions from those ads.
• Business Operations: We use Google Workspace (e.g., Gmail, Drive) to store and manage business communications and documents securely.
• Location of Processing: We primarily process data in the United States. If data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to protect it in accordance with this Policy.

Legal Bases (GDPR/UK GDPR, where applicable)

• Legitimate Interests: operating and improving the Site, responding to B2B inquiries, and marketing to professionals.
• Consent: for optional analytics cookies where required by local law.
• Contract: to perform our obligations when we enter into a services agreement with you.
• Legal Obligation: to comply with laws, regulations, and lawful requests.

CoreLabs

CoreLabs is CoreBackend’s collection of educational and technical materials. You can read publicly available CoreLabs materials without providing any personal information — we do not require an account to browse them.

If you ask to be notified about a CoreLabs release, we collect the email address you submit through that form (processed by Formspree) and use it only to send the updates you requested. You can ask us to remove your address at any time by emailing contact@corebackend.dev.

We do not sell CoreLabs subscriber information and we do not use it for advertising. Your use of CoreLabs materials is also governed by our Terms of Service.

Data Retention

We retain contact submissions and related correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described above or as required by law. Analytics data is retained per our GA4 settings and Google’s retention policies.

Do We Sell or Share Personal Information?

We do not sell personal information. We have never exchanged personal information for money.

We do run search advertising through Google Ads and use its conversion measurement. When you accept advertising cookies, Google may receive identifiers that let it connect your visit to an ad click. Under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) that activity can meet the definition of “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, so rather than claim otherwise we tell you plainly how to stop it:

• Decline advertising cookies in the cookie notice shown on your first visit. Nothing is set unless you accept, and you can change your mind by clearing site data for corebackend.dev.
• Send a Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser or an extension sends GPC, we treat it as a binding opt-out of sale and sharing: advertising and analytics stay off, and we do not even show you the cookie notice. You do not need to do anything else.
• Email us at contact@corebackend.dev and we will action the request.

We do not share personal information with data brokers, we do not build remarketing or advertising audiences, and we do not use it for any advertising purpose beyond measuring whether our own ads led to an enquiry. Ad personalisation is disabled on this site permanently.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, and the right to withdraw consent (when processing is based on consent). California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — see “Do We Sell or Share Personal Information?” above, and note that we honour Global Privacy Control signals automatically. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no system is perfectly secure. If you believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

Children’s Privacy

Our Site and services are directed to businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to review their policies.
