What does the free architecture review include?

A 45-minute video call on one system or problem. Within 3 business days you get a short written note: main risks, first steps and a price range. Free, and yours either way. Everything you share stays confidential. First response the same business day. If we’re not the right fit, we say so — and the note is still yours.

Who actually works on my project?

Founder-led; senior engineers engaged per workstream. Founder-led, with senior engineers engaged per workstream; the engineer you talk to leads and builds the work, with no mid-project rotation and no handoff to a delivery team. We also take a defined piece of work inside an existing team, and take on systems we didn’t build.

How does pricing work?

Fixed scope, milestone billing, nothing upfront. You know the total cost before a line of code ships. Starter engagements are one invoice, after you accept the work. Larger work is billed milestone by milestone, at prices fixed in the blueprint you approve. After launch, the monthly support retainer covers alerts, fixes and small changes.

Who owns the code and IP?

You own what we build for you. We build in your repositories, in your cloud accounts, with your credentials. Everything we build for you is yours under your contract’s terms. Our pre-existing tools are licensed to you perpetually at no cost; open-source components stay under their own licenses. If you ever bring development in-house or switch providers, you walk away with everything, documented.

What happens if we stop mid-project?

You stop at a gate — and keep everything up to it. The review note and the blueprint are already yours. Accepted milestones are documented and transfer with their IP — you owe nothing beyond the milestones you’ve accepted. The process is built so that leaving is cheap; that’s what makes staying a real choice.

How do you handle security and compliance?

Designed into the architecture, not bolted on afterward. Recent systems shipped with complete audit trails, encrypted credentials on automatic rotation, mTLS between services, and GDPR / SOC 2 controls mapped to specific architectural mechanisms — audit events are committed in the same transaction as the data they describe.

It was purpose-built for the systems we build. High-concurrency, low-latency backends that compile to a single binary, start in milliseconds, and scale without runtime dependencies. Go is our default, but we’re language-agnostic — we build in whatever your systems already run. We’re not dogmatic — if your problem is better solved with something else, we’ll tell you.

How do you handle communication and timezones?

However works best for you — live or fully async. We’re in Los Angeles (Pacific Time) — comfortable US overlap, with a daily window for European teams. Active projects get a dedicated Slack channel and a demo of working software every two weeks. Every decision that touches scope, architecture, or timeline goes through you first.

How long does a typical project take?

Recent systems shipped in 10–16 weeks, concept to delivery. That’s the published record, not a promise — and a tightly scoped integration layer can come in under it. Design & planning runs one to two weeks, then two-week sprints to launch.
